This time of year, we are experiencing what I call tomatopalooza! I'd say that we are just about reaching the tomato peak and chiles are soon to follow. Here's an informal chat on the back porch discussing the ingredients needed to make salsa and a little chile identification, along with how to test for heat, before going into the kitchen to make a simple recipe.
