Come on in to my kitchen, while I show you how to make salsa from scratch--it is easy and quick. I like to hand chop my tomatoes and chiles for salsa when I have the time. It is more like a relish and has a bit more texture and crunch. In this video, I show you how to make salsa in the food processor, which I often do when I am in a hurry, or have a lot of produce to chop.
Salsa-making is pretty loose--you can use any ripe tomatoes, throw in a few green ones, or use tomatillos. You can use lots of chiles and make it hot, hot, hot--or not--and just use a few. Vary your herbs, add some fresh corn or beans, or even fruit.
