We drink a bottle of wine or two per week on average - well, Himself drinks it - but anyway, I learned that GREEN glass is not recycled - at least in Michigan.

We have extremely sandy soil, so decided to use raised beds. I read a book where a facility used old Coke bottles to line walkways, etc, and decided to try using the much larter wine bottles to make raised beds. It works extremely well!

Simply use a dibble (or other tool) to make a hole, and press the entire neck of the bottle into the soil and form a circle. I place a piece of wood on top of the bottle bottomes and pound them in with a hammer.
