I was walking my corn rows yesterday and found this growing out of the top of one of them. Anyone know what it is? Should I be concerned by it and should I remove this stalk of corn fromt he field. This field of corn is my attempt at creating my own personal variety (third year and it looks like this will be my best year yet on cross pollination) so I don't want something in there that may infect the other plants. But if it is just a random mutation or just malformation and won't affect the other plants I'll just leave it.

Also if it is not going to hurt anything I want to leave it there because I'm horribly curious about it.

After you try it, show it off to other members in the
gardener's gallery.
