Queen Daisy is the bee with the red dot. My hives are named for flowers or plants.

My honeybees work my vegetable garden and ornamental gardens as well. In the early morning the vegetable garden is a flower paradise. Huge golden yellow squash blooms, beautiful hibiscus like okra blooms, yellow cantaloupe and watermelon blooms, delicate pink and purple pea blossoms, tiny white greenbean blooms, the sunflowers, which are bee favorites, the tassles on the giant grass we call corn, as well as the heavenly blue morning glories I allow to grow up them. Throw in the purple from eggplant, the red and orange tomatoes and peppers and we have a true Eden.

TheGardenGirl writes: Bees are so cool. When honey bees browse my garden I always wonder where they flew in from. The bees that hang out at my place are so docile and tame, I think they must belong to a domesticated hive.
