Brussels sprouts look pretty, but taste bad!

Smith's Acres is a family farm in Niantic, CT. They've been in business for nearly 30 years, growing some of the best produce along the Connecticut shoreline. Fine Gardening was invited to the farm for a series of photo/video shoots last summer which is when these pictures were taken. Teri Smith called earlier this week to say that Farmer Joe (her husband) has ordered so many different types of tomato seeds this year, she doesn't know if they'll have room to plant them all.  Oh, well--HAPPY SPRING!

Kate_Frank writes: I hated Brussels sprouts until recently, when I started sautéing them in olive oil with minced garlic and pine nuts. If you slightly undercook them and don't steam them, they don't have that awful bitter/acid flavor.
