I think this year is the first time that I've really read in-depth on how to prune them properly for optimal fruit production so we'll see how big of a difference it makes. The beds are 6'x4' and I've added a few larger beds this year. My wife and I have a newer home and the backyard was all pad site material, i.e. the worst clay soil you can find. So we spent several weekends digging out the old dirt in the beds and replacing it with a new, peat-based mix.

By the way, for you and Kate both, I joined the website a few weeks ago and was around the 40th person to enroll. I'm really pleased with how fast (I think) its growing and how many people are interested in it. You guys are doing a great job!

How large are the raised beds? Do you double dig when making riased beds?
