Video: Fridays at the Farm

I just finished watching this documentary and all I can say is wow. When it comes to watching videos on the web, I pretty much have the attention span of a toddler. But after some gentle nudging from my mom, I settled down with my cats and a glass of merlot and treated myself to this 19-minute documentary, which is made up of 20,000 breathtaking still images and commentary that felt more like prose.
Here's the description that the filmmaker, Coyopa Productions, provides with the video:
"Feeling disconnected from their food, a filmmaker and his family decide to join a community supported organic farm. As he photographs the growing process, the filmmaker moves from passive observer to active participant in the planting and harvesting of vegetables. Featuring lush time-lapse and macro photography sequences compiled from nearly 20,000 still images, this personal essay is a father's meditation on his blossoming family and community."
I understand now why my mom kept e-mailing me to ask if I had watched it yet. If you can possibly spare the time, treat yourself to this documentary. I hope you love it as much as I did.

It's informational yet artistic and somewhat hypnotizing at the same time.
May just have to join a CSA this year!
