Write about your garden!
comments (10) April 29th, 2009I'm excited to announce that we're now able to accept readers' contributions to vegetablegardener.com! So if you have a recipe, a gardening story or article, a bunch of cool photos, or a video that you want to share with like-minded veggie gardeners of all skill levels, this is the place to do it.
And if you're a new gardener, please don't be shy about posting. Sharing your successes and failures--no matter how big or small they are—will help all of us get better at gardening. And isn't that what we're here for?
To share your content on the site, click on Share a post at the top of the page. Or, click on any of the main categories at the top of the screen (underneath our logo). Then look for the green button labeled Post ... and post away!
If you'd like to learn more about the site and how it works, keep reading...
Featured vs. Community Articles
When you're browsing articles in any of the main site categories, you'll see tabs near the top of the screen that indicate whether you're looking at Featured or Community content. Featured articles are usually written by our expert contributors or are archived articles from Taunton's Kitchen Gardener magazine.
When you're looking at Community articles, you're browsing through contributions from gardeners from all over the world, and of all skill levels.
And if we find Community content that we think other gardeners will enjoy, we'll give it a prime spot on our homepage and maybe even feature it in an upcoming eLetter.
Categories
Grow
This is our general gardening section, where you can read or post articles about how to be a better gardener. Some examples of the types of articles that should appear here are Companion Plantings, How to Grow Carrots, and How to Grow Sweet Cherries.
Recipes
Here's where you can find and post interesting recipes like Lemon Basil Ice Cream, Baked Runner Beans, and Leek and Potato Soup. Okay, moving right along... I'm getting hungry!
(Disclaimer: Featured recipes were written and/or tested by experts or our editors. If you try a Community recipe, there's no telling what you'll get—but we're hoping it'll be delicious and that you'll leave a comment for its author.)
Video
Our video channel is where you can watch videos created by experts or to share interesting videos you find on the Web. If you make your own videos, you can also upload them to a hosting service like YouTube and embed them here. And if you see anything that looks like it doesn't belong here, don't hesitate to report it to our Customer Service Department.
In the Kitchen
This is a place for anything kitchen-related that's not an actual recipe—things related to the harvesting, preparation, and preservation of what you grow. Some examples are Using Green Garlic, How to Dry Herbs, and Picking and Preparing Spinach.
Projects
Here's a place where you can read about or post about garden projects, from vermicomposting, to building raised beds, to making a trellis
Living
For many gardeners, growing stuff isn't just a hobby—it's a lifestyle. If that's true for you and you want to write about it, this is the place to do it. You could also post about events you attended or other essay-type articles here.
Go Organic
This is where you can read or post specifically about organic or green gardening, from keeping bunnies away, to attracting beneficial insects, to creating healthy compost.
Gallery
The Gallery is the place to post photos. We'll be splitting this gallery up so you can browse by category. Right now we're asking people to post photos of your gigantic, deformed, or downright weird-looking veggies to the Mutant Vegetable Watch gallery. Check it out!

With all the way to connect your Dish Network receiver to the web, how about connecting with a 2wire wireless gaming adapter. I will use the 2wire wireless adapter from the 1022 At&t Homezone on a Vip 612 receiver.
What I will be showing you'll also work with each of the Vip and K set Dish Network receivers. This 2wire gaming adapter can also work in your Xbox, PS3, Pc, notebook etc. To setup you 2wire gaming adapter along with your Dish Network receiver you will need the following:
* 2Wire Wireless Gaming Adapter
* Wireless Router "I'm using a 2wire 2700 HG-B
* Vip, K collection or receiver with ethernet
The very first thing that you must do to setup your dish network receiver with all the wireless gaming adapter is to configure the gaming adapter in order to talk to your wireless router. So what you'll need to seopressor plug the 2wire wireless adapter straight into your router and electricity the wireless adapter on. Then point a web browser to your own routers default gateway. This can typically be 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254.
Once your web browser open up your wireless router's default gateway display look for an option that will permit you to determine the ip address of 2wire wireless gaming adapter. After you get the wireless located in the list, click view details to find out the ip address.
Now you have the ip address of the gaming adapter, you may now need to type this address into your web browser. You should now see a display that resembles the picture below, which enables one to alter setting on the 2wire gaming adapter.
Open up the wireless setting option from the list in the left side of the display. Within display now you can view a affilorama review all of the local wireless networks within range of the adapter. Decide your wireless network in the list and fill in the detail for you personally security encryption. The single problem is that 2wire gaming adapter does not function WPA2, but operates with WEP and WPA.
Then press:
* #6 for system set up
* #1 for setup
* #8 for broadband setup
* #1 for Network Setup
Now all you have to do is reset your connection to get the ip address from the gaming adapter for the dish network receiver. In case you see a 0.0.0.0 then there's a problem.
Your Dish Network receiver is now on-line and prepared to begin downloading content from Dish On Demand. Merely press the DVR button and press #5 for Dish ONLINE. If you have some difficulties make sure that you have set up port forwarding for the port range of 2200 -
