Flower salads are a delicious summer treat. Just be sure that you have correctly identified the flower and that it's safe to eat!

The best time of day to harvest flowers is in the morning, when they're freshest. Generally it's best to use flowers that are at their peak. When you bring your flowers in to prepare to eat, swish them around in a bowl of water to remove grit and bugs. You can store edible flowers in a small vase, or wash them and place them face down on a paper towel in the fridge. Placing them face down prevents them from closing up.
