Use Stockings as Plant Ties
comments (0) May 19th, 2009I am a woman who was not built to wear stockings. The second after I manage to wrestle myself into them, they get a hole. So what the heck is the point of these annoying pieces of clothing?
ANSWER: A useful plant tie.
I recycle the holey stockings in my drawer into useful strips of cloth that I use in the garden. Whether they are helping keep my peas off the ground or securing my tomatoes to their stakes, these things always come in handy. And as your plants grow and expand, the stretchy material doesn't cut off the circulation of your beloved veggies. Try it out!
