If you're a gardener, you know how nice it is to put homegrown salads and side dishes on the table. Maybe this is the season to expand your repertoire into homegrown desserts, and we've got the recipes. Here's a sampling from our site. Cakes, brownies, and pies

Traditional Swiss Carrot Cake
Carrot's sweet flavor lends itself to baking. This carrot cake is a lighter version than those typically found in cafes and bakeries.

Chocolate Mint Brownies
You can use spearmint in these chocolate brownies, but peppermint works best with chocolate.

Pumpkin Pie
Pumpkin Pie is an autumn favorite not to be missed. Since pumpkin purée is easily frozen, you can plan on having pie year-round.

Country Apple Pie
Pile the apples high and glaze after baking for an irresistible dessert.

Ice creams and granitas...

Lemon Basil Ice Cream
This velvet-textured ice cream leaves a delightful perfume on the palate.

Mixed Berry Granita
Fruit liqueur adds a kick to this granita's flavor.

Cherry Tomato Sundae
Cherry Tomato Sundae is an unusual and incredibly flavorful dessert.

Pears Baked in Custard
This dessert is good warm or at room temperature.

Lemon Verbena Flan
This lemony dessert with a caramelized top makes an elegant presentation.

Sweet Cherry Clafouti
A simple French custard dessert makes good use of tasty, sweet cherries.
