Our first year at small gardening was somewhat sucessful, but mistakes we made, were lessons learned for this year. We are adding more compost to each container, and enriching the soild while using less plants (especially tomato). We just could not bear to pull up all that we had planted after starting the little darling from seed. Instead of 6 plants per 4x8 bed we had double that. With good rich soil the six plants will produce more fruit than we could use. (We have relative that has done this for years and we know how much fruit can be produced if done right, and it is a lot morer than what we produced our first year.)
