You really can grow eggplants in containers.

KarenBudnick writes: The topiary eggplants needed to be staked as soon as they started setting fruit - I used a dark green plant stake. Just make sure they're never allowed to dry out and they'll but and fruit continuously all summer. Use the eggplants while they're really small. Think "baby vegetables"!
