This system of indoor vegetable gardening is intended to be used to grow vegetables to harvest, but it is also a great way to start your seeds indoors, to be transplanted outside in the spring. Now that the shelving is set up and in place, I can start my vegetable seeds using repurposed plastic containers filled with seed-starting medium. This is a great project to do with children in the winter. Did you know you can grow almost any type of vegetable in a container? The key to making it pay off is to repurpose as many things as you can to keep the costs down.
