"Okra out of control"

Must be my homemade soil, this years's okra crop was "fierce", the plants were 10ft. tall and I've never seen okras that big. I am from South America and the okras there are 4 to 5 inches long. What do you think happened? They were delicious anyhow! I live in Georgia.

I have a great recipe for okra fritters if you are interested...little fried corncakes w/okra slices. SO good! :)
