The nice part about growing cabbage is you can plant lettuce or other crops around them and after you harvest it you replant the area with radishes or more lettuce.
I am working on my fourth year and decided to try corn this year.

When I had to have my drain field relocated I decided to utilize the area with a raised bed garden. That was almost four years ago and the garden is thriving..

Now I live in the inner city and am surrounded by abandoned houses and parking lots. But I have cleaned up my small (12 x 12) "backyard" and intend to till up about a 6 x 6 garden and I am going to try the waffle garden and companion planting. I like to design on paper and then make changes as I go. I'm excited. I am going to try and make lemonade from my lemons.
