I recently planted a rock garden on top of my bird bath.  It has soil, succelent plants and pebbles on top.  Not sure how to care for them, especially when to water.

ChrisMcLaughlin writes: Sydneybeth: Optimally, you'll have some drainage holes in the bottom of the bird bath. Otherwise they may end up with rotten roots. Press a finger into the soil; if you feel dampness, don't water. Only water them after the soil dries out. I'll be this is very pretty!
