My second year garden, Husband built a beautiful raised bed. 4' X 16" tall X 24' long filled with tomatoes, beets, carrots, lettice, flowers & pepper plants. The corn is taller than our 12' fence. Herbs, poppies and daisys growing out of pots along with the deer skull! Green beans are doing famously from a pot and up the chicken wire trellis. Red potatoes are done though I really haven't taken them all out yet, we enjoy them fresh-so great! Tons of tomatoes set on and ripening. Pea's not doing worth a darn. Strawberries in 4 half barrels are growing nothing but stringers! (first year) I've made my first pickled beets. Very good. No miracle grow, no insectisides. Just dirt, used potting soil from nursery, local sand and manure. I water now and then with "compost Tea." Neighbors chickens make the rounds daily so earwigs and such are no problem this year. Lots of helpful insects and birds and a king snake. (The potatoes are behind the green beans, also is a tomatillo plant. strawberries to the right.)
