I specially like herbs and Brugmansias. Herbal vinegars, oils and jams, herbs in pots for winter indoors are big with me.
In this climate, living on a mountain, I have learned lots about soil and where to grow things. Pots have become the final decision for vegs and some herbs. My heirloom washtubs now grow tomatoes, greens, rhubarb and lettuces,
although often when I look at those old tubs, I still see kids and grandkids splashing in cool water there on hot summer days.I grew up gardening in Ontario and am growing old gardening here in BC. Gardening? A way of life, isn't it?

Re: How to Start Tomato Plants from Cuttings
Aha! Do I smell a plant thief? Like me? Thank you for the good directions. I have heard you can do this, but there were no real directions. Probably because the advisors thought it was so easy even a dummy could do it. I will try it and use the new plants for barter with my neighbours.
