I have found a healthy artichoke plant in my garden, that survived a bone chilling winter with heavy snow and periods of none, and heavy frost. I was very surprised and pleased.
My plants grew huge last year, however no fruit like the year before. In the fall I had pulled out the plants !
We have also had some extreme conditions this spring. And I am in Erie county, PA. Amazing will try to save my roots this fall instead of pulling out the plants.
