Re: Rabbit Manure in the Garden

As a youngster, I had a pet rabbit and kept her hutch over a patch of ground near our back basement door that was only about 3 or 4 feet square. After she passed away, we grew beans corn and pumpkins there and everything grew like mad. My mother picked the climbing beans from the living room window a floor above, while the pumpkins vines grew as long as 72 feet and produced more than two dozen pumpkins as big as 40 pounds. The only failure was the corn, possibly because I chose a dwarf variety that was supposed to grow five feet tall and have two or three ears per stalk. Instead it was nine feet tall and had about 9 ears per stalk. Part of the problem may have been due to a problem with fertilization from the tassels. I'm planning on getting some rabbits within the next year. My wife wants chickens. We'll see what happens.
