strawberry plants with my artichokes an orchard

On a 96 degree day the artichokes are doin great, an  they said i was crazy for tryin to grow theses baby's here in the northern panhandle of West Virginia,

Your artichokes looks great, glad to see you can grow them up in W. Virginia. How many chokes do you get from one plant?, just asking because I have been wanting to try my hand at growing them here in central Tx.,once they are finished for the season, do you cut them back and mulch them over for winter, any advise you could share would be great.
