Re: Fall Garden Planning & To-Do List

I have planted a few things in my fall garden and getting ready to finish it out in the next few days. Living in Northeast TN with the protection of mountains all around me, my growing period is longer than most places. even 30, miles from me. I keep preaching fall plantings to my friends and neighbors but most do not do it.
I find it is a great way to cut my food costs even into January.
Loved your posting, keep up the good work and enjoy that Green Thumb Blood....a lot of us have it...lol.

Re: Small Batch Preserving

Wonderful ideas, I do something semilar but with canning. I have a small pressure cooker that will hold 6 pint jars at one time. I use it to make small batches of my vegetable garden bounty.
I don't always add the pressure cap, especially with tomaotes, as I do not like the texture of my tomatoes after being pressured cooked but for size and fit, it's perfect for small batch canning.
I had an abundance of tomatoes this season so I made several batches for my winter cooking pleasure.
