Re: A Freestanding Tomato Trellis Improves Yields and Keeps the Garden Neat
I'm convinced! It's time to ditch the 8' stakes I have and to build the A frame for convenience, light exposure, easy suckering, and for late frost protection here in SW Ohio. The trellis and strings for support sure work well in commercial greenhouses and they serve up an added benefit; by tugging lightly on the string every few days the plant is vibrated and pollen is released from the blooms. This aids in pollination and and fruit sets more quickly.
