Re: From Paprika Seeds to Paprikash

The chicken paprikash sounds yummy! I've been growing paprika peppers for a few years now, and I like to smoke some of them to make smoked paprika. I use it on everything, including a tuna melt I had for lunch today.

Re: How to Grow an Odd-looking Turnip

Kohlrabi is one of my favorite veggies! I use them to make fermented kohlrabi pickles and kohl-kraut. The newer hybrids like Konan stay tender even when baseball sized.

Re: 3 Vegetable Winners from 2017

Midnight Snack cherry tomato and Cornito Giallo pepper were two of my standouts this year. And so was the Dickinson pumpkin.

Re: Smoking Chile Peppers

Every year I smoke a lot of the peppers I grow in our garden, both sweet and hot types including jalapenos, anchos and paprika peppers. After smoking I dry them in the dehydrator. It takes a couple of days, but once dried they keep a long time. Then I grind them up for chile powder or paprika, and I use some of the chipotles in adobo sauce.
